Book Haul #2
written on Monday, February 11, 2013 @ 8:40 PM ✈
So I may have a bit of an obsession with buying books these days. I've purchased another 15 books since my last post which was only barely a week ago! I'm officially on a book buying hold until I finish the majority of all the books. This week I will start posting some book reviews since I haven't done any yet. I might also be posting some movie reviews since I have a list gathered that I want to watch :)
Again, for your convenience I have linked each of the titles below to Goodreads where you can read the summary! If you don't already have a GR account, I suggest you make one! :) It's my newest obsession.
Why Men Love Bitches by Sherry Argov. Self-help, Relationships. 288 pages. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Young Adult, Fantasy. 485 pages.
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. Contemporary, Fiction. 529 pages.
L.A. Confidential by James Ellroy. Mystery, Crime. 512 pages. My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Chick-lit, Drama. 423 pages.
Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende. Historical fiction. 432 pages.
The Fifth Vial by Michael Palmer. Thriller, Mystery. 544 pages.
Germ by Robert Liparulo. Thriller, Science fiction. 490 pages.
Tunnels of Blood by Darren Shan. Vampires, Fantasy. 224 pages.
Vampire Mountain by Darren Shan. Vampires, Fantasy. 199 pages.
The Keepers by Heather Graham. Paranormal, Romance. 283 pages.
Frostbite by Richelle Mead. Young Adult, Vampires. 256 pages.
The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall. Fantasy, Science Fiction. 448 pages.
Beautiful Lies by Lisa Unger. Mystery, Thriller. 384 pages.
Decipher by Stel Pavlou. Thriller, Science Fiction. 592 pages.
So, I've noticed that I picked up much thicker books this time around. Which is actually a good thing, because that means that they will keep me busier. I'm actually really excited to read some of these! This blog is definitely not just about books, I promise. I just seem to have had a problem containing myself these past few weeks.
As I mentioned above, I might also start doing movie reviews along with the book reviews this week. Do you like the sound of that? I pretty much watch all types of movies, so if there's something that you would like me to watch then I for sure will check it out and review it! :) Hope you all look forward to book reviews this week! xo, Tiffany

Book Haul #1
written on Sunday, February 3, 2013 @ 5:54 PM ✈
Can you think of a better way to start off a new blog than a 2013 book haul? I can't. In the past two weeks I've purchased 15 books. I decided to break this down into two miniature hauls since I purchased some books online and then some books at Goodwill.
These are the first 8 books I purchased mid-January. For your convenience, I have linked the books below with the title to take you to GR (Goodreads) where you can read the summary of the book.
Go Ask Alice by Anonymous. Young Adult, Psychology. 213 pages.
King of the Screwups by K.L. Going. Young Adult, Humor. 320 pages.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Young Adult, Dystopia. 374 pages.
Wake by Lisa McMann. Young Adult, Fantasy, Mystery. 225 pages.
Peeps by Scott Westerfeld. Young Adult, Vampires. 312 pages.
Night World No. 1 by L.J. Smith. Young Adult, Paranormal/Supernatural. 729 pages.
Thirst No.1 by Christopher Pike. Young Adult, Vampires. 594 pages.
Eragon by Christopher Paolini. Young Adult, Fantasy, Dragons. 503 pages.
The rest of the 7 books I purchased at the Goodwill. Which, for some reason, I never thought of going there to get books! I'd much rather pay $1.99 for a book compared to full price. I'm so cheap!
Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin. Horror, Thriller. 308 pages.
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. Biography, Non-Fiction. 288 pages.
Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. Mystery, Suspense. 510 pages.
Prisoners in the Palace by Michaela MacColl. Young Adult, Historical Fiction, 368 pages.
Turnabout by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Young Adult. 240 pages.
Divine by Mistake by P.C. Cast. Fantasy, Romance. 571 pages.
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. Classics, War, Historical Fiction. 463 pages.
I have to admit though, I'm a lacking a little by posting this. I told myself to publish the haul before I started to read any of the books... but that idea quickly went out the window. I've already read 4 of the 15 books that I've purchased. So far, I've read Go Ask Alice, King of the Screwups, Digital Fortress and Turnabout. I think I might only do two reviews out of the four. If I don't have my blog itinerary figured out soon, I may end up posting reviews for all four. Let me know what you think!
So tell me ladies and gents. Have you read any of these books? What'd you think of them? If there a specific book that you would like me to review? You just don't know if the book is worth the time? Just leave a comment or e-mail me suggesting some and I'll do my very best to read and review!

we live under the same sky
“To put away aimlessness and weakness, and to begin to think with purpose, is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment; who make all conditions serve them, and who think strongly, attempt fearlessly, and accomplish masterfully.”
- James Allen Quotes

My name is Tiffany, but I probably go by everything except my actual name. I'm kinda betting on no one really reading this, but ya know if you do... then props to you. I guess I can just babble about myself here for a few minutes. I have been blogging all over the internet since I was about 12, then quit and decided to become an active blogger again for 2013. I'm a very sarcastic person and it's very rare for me to take anything seriously. I'm obsessed with tattoos, piercings, reading, music, Dia de los Muertos and food. I start college full time in the fall and will be majoring in Psychology (criminal profiling) and have a minor in Journalism. I don't like talking about myself, honestly, but I'm just trying to fill up a little space right here. I just realized every one of these sentences basically start with I or I'm, which is annoying to me. Don't be shy to talk to me! I'm super friendly, I pinky promise! But okay, here are some nifty favorites of mine that we may or may not have in common! xo

• Boob Tube:Supernatural, Law and Order: SVU, Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, Prison Break, Wipeout, Prison Break, Pretty Little Liars, Duck Dynasty, Pawn Stars, Freaks and Geeks. That's about it.
• Bookshelves: Flowers in the Attic, 1984, Prophecy of the Stones, The Thin Executioner, Ghost Walk, The Outsiders, Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm. I liked the books that I had to read for school basically lol.
• Celebrity Crushes: Johnny Depp, Mila Kunis, Gerard Butler, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Sarah Roemer, Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bamber, Jensen Ackles, Aaron Paul, Sean Astin, Hayden Panettiere

I currently live in the United States. I live on the border of Mississippi and Tennessee.

B L O G
When did you start blogging? What's your blogging history?
I started blogging around the age of 12, so approximately 6 (six) years previously. I started blogging on xanga and buddy4u just talking about myself, my life and sharing my opinions. In 2009, I started reviewing books and movies on a private blog for a small group of friends for a movie and book club. One of my New Year's resolutions for 2013 was to start over and become an active blogger again.
Why did you choose the name "blushette"?
It was one of my original names I wanted to have when I created a Tumblr a few years back, but the username was taken. I couldn't think of a more creative username, and I liked blushette because it was short and would be easy to remember.
Where do you get your products to review? How much are you paid?
I am not sponsored or sent any products from companies. Any products that are reviewed are purchased with my own money unless otherwise stated in the blog post. I am not being paid anything.
Are you currently accepting affiliates/elites?
Yes, I am! Leave a message in the cbox to the left asking to be affiliates but please leave your URL where I can contact you back. If you are a frequent blogger or we become close friends, I may choose you to be an elite instead.
